S50C is a medium-carbon steel (0.47-0.55% C) offering a balanced combination of strength, hardness, and ductility. S50C steel strip is the cost-effective workhorse for agricultural tools, general-purpose springs, and machine components where moderate hardness and good machinability are required.

Typical Applications

Agricultural Tools

Sickle blades, hoe blades, cultivator tines. Good edge retention at moderate cost with 45-50 HRC working hardness.

Springs

General-purpose flat springs, clamping springs, and return springs. Adequate fatigue life for non-critical spring applications.

Machine Parts

Shafts, keys, pins, and wear plates. Good combination of strength and machinability for general engineering components.
